Organic Prickly Pear Oil

The prickly pear oil contains over 85% of unsaturated fatty acid with over 60% of linoleic acid (omega 6). The prickly pear Opuntia ficus indica is native to South America and contains only 5% oil, in fact the seeds are separated from the pulp, washed thoroughly, dried and then stored in a cool and dry place; subsequently by cold pressing a very rich and precious oil is obtained. The composition of  prickly pear oil is considered an essential fatty acid for various metabolic processes in the body, since it is not capable of self-producing this acid. It is also rich in tocopherols (antioxidants) which help stabilize cell membranes and protect the tissues of the skin, eyes and breasts which are more sensitive to oxidation.
